First Day of 5th

Today was the first day of fifth grade and the last first day of elementary school.  The little man got the same teacher from last year and was super excited! 

4th Grader

Today was the first day of 4th grade. Chase was super excited! Most of his buddies are in his class again and he has his first male teacher, Mr. Hemming.  He came home happy and told us he likes his teacher. That is always a good thing to hear! 

Last Day of 3rd Grade

Say it isn't so!!! My little man is now going to 4th grade!!!
Here are a few pictures from his last day of being a third grader. 

  Grandma and I made this sign for when he got home from school. It says 4th grade here I come and has all of the fun things we are planning on doing this summer.  Golf lessons, guitar lessons, soccer skills and we are headed to Disneyland!

 He won three awards this year all three for academic
achievements. He passed the highest levels in math and reading
through the schools computer programs.

 After school Chase was invited to a end of school party at his buddy Tripp's house. They ate pizza, popcorn and popsicles. They also watched a movie and headed out on a little afternoon hike. What a beautiful day!

School Super Hero Reading Challenge

Chase's school sent home a reading challenge for the kids this week. 

There are some pretty fun reading challenges. The goal is to
accomplish 15 of the challenges to help build a superhero in the classroom.
The first was to read in the bath tube.

 Read under the kitchen table. 

 Read in a blanket fort. 

 Read to a pet. 

Have a reading party with friends! Although I have to admit, not a lot of reading was accomplished during the party.  I told them to pretend they were reading for the picture.

Another Year

This handsome boy has officially been promoted to 3rd grade!!! We are so proud of him he really had to work hard this year. 

2nd Grader

 It's the first day of school. Being a teacher I love this time of year. I love school supplies, decorating classrooms and meeting new students. However, I don't like my little man growing up! Today was his first day of second grade. Yikes, I'm feeling old. 

I love taking these first day pictures and looking back on the years. He always has to be silly.

He started a new school today but thanks to some great friends he had a good day. I'm pretty sure I was more worried about it than he was. We got a thumbs up after class so that's a good sign. 

Just 3 More Sleeps

Well it's just three sleeps till my little man starts kindergarten (full day kindergarten). I am seriously freaking out! I can barely even say the word kindergarten without getting teary eyed. Hopefully I can keep it together Wednesday morning when I drop him off at school. I even asked Ryan to take the day off work not for Chase but to have the extra support for me. Unfortunately he can't so I'm on my own. UGG!

Over the weekend the school had their ribbon cutting ceremony and we were able to tour the new school! It is beautiful! The whole school is wired for the internet, each student will be able to have an iPad in class. There is even a dance studio and science lab!  We also got a sneak peek of Chase's class.

and we found his tile he painted up on the wall.

I will let you all know how the first day of school goes. Wish me luck!!! I will have plenty of pictures. Here is the gift we made for Mrs. Johnson, Chase's teacher. We fancied up some hand sanitizer and changed this straw dispenser into a pencil dispenser. I hope she likes it.
