Pot of Gold
Here is a fun craft I made with my son for St.Patrick's day. It is easy and fast!
What you will need:
Construction paper (colors of the rainbow)
Ribbon
Scissors
Tape
Pen/Pencil
1. Trace and cut your child's hand print in each color.
2. Cut out pot and gold coins.
3. Tape hands and pot of gold to the ribbon.
I love this simple craft. I love the colors and the fact that you can save it to remember your child's little hand.
Valentines Mailboxes
I found these mailboxes in the Target dollar sections last week! I grabbed three, one for Chase and then two for his teachers at school. I just added vinyl I cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine! Tons of fun!
Gift Card Snow Globe
What you need:
Gift Card of your choice
Glitter
Mason Jar
Ribbon
Ornaments/embellishments
Glycerin or Baby Oil
Hot glue gun
When I found these snow globes on Pinterest I just knew I had to make them. They are so cute!!! If you want to see the original pin click here or here. I bought everything I needed from Target including the adorable snowman gift card! I also purchased a Red Robin gift card my family likes to eat.
I used a hot glue gun as per the instructions, arranged the decor and let it dry for four days. Then I added the water and glitter along with a little drop of glycerin (to make the glitter float)
Unfortunately this project didn't turn out how it was suppose to. I was so disappointed! As soon as I tightened the lid and tipped the jar over everything that I had glued to the lid floated to the top! Major bummer! This Pin was a flop! So unfortunately I can't recommend this :(
Personalized Knife Block
The next project I tackled was to personalize our knife block! It was so ugly, now it matches my home decor so well! To see the original pin for this project click here.
I started by sanding the knife block and then spray painted a flat black base coat. After that dried completely I painted a coat of red and let dry over night.
The next day I sanded the knife block to give it a dis stressed look.
Tada, so easy and I love the look! So much nicer than what I started with. Do you agree?
Christmas Countdown
Chase is so excited this year for Christmas! He asks us at least three times a day how many sleeps it is until it's Christmas day. So I figured we better make something to help him count down the days.
Santa's beard is very bare.
On his chin, there is no hair.
So each day,
Add one puff so white
and when they're all on
He'll come that night!
We then counted out 24 cotton balls and placed them in this cup next to the countdown on the refrigerator. Then starting December 1st we will begin our countdown and add one cotton ball to Santa's beard each day. There are also more fun projects at Over The Big Moon. It's one of my new favorite blogs.

I have a new love! It's called Pinterest! It's a site where you can " pin your interests" to boards you've created! I spend hours and hours on this site and in return have found so many cute projects. Here are just a couple of projects I've completed that I found on Pinterest.

Birthday
Here are a couple of projects we are working on for Chase's birthday! We made this quote box and are planing on taking pictures of each of our superheros when they arrive at the party. We will add their superhero name or WHAM! POW! or SMASH! to the box.
We are also working on this "kid wash" but we will call it a Superhero Suds Wash or something to do with superheros. I found this idea in the Disney Family Fun magazine, one of my favorites places to find fun ideas.
Shed
This is our current project. My dad and Ryan are working on a shed for our yard! I love it!!!

Chase's Birthday 2011
#5Chase's birthday is coming up here in a month or two and I have been trying to get him to decide what theme he wants for his party. Man is it hard for a four year old to make up his mind! We finally decided on a Super Hero party. Yeah! I have been working hard already getting decorations ready. Here is one of my first projects, Comic Book Pennants!
It's super easy to make! All you need are scissors, a comic book of your choice and colored duck tape! You just cut the pages of the comic book into triangles and them place them lined up in the center of the tape. Then fold the tape in half, you might need an extra hand when using the tape it sometimes gets stuck where you don't want it to. That's it!
Tooth Fairy Door
I found this idea on line and couldn't resist! Chase doesn't even have a loose tooth yet but I'll be prepared when he finally does. What you do is a few days before your kiddo looses a tooth you place this door up on the wall and leave it there for the Tooth Fairy to enter the house! So Cute !!!
I have a couple more doors if anyone wants me to make one for them, let me know.
Here are the goodiescrapblog.com designed this card and printed them out on 4x6 photo paper. We bought the treats and clear bags from Target. Then stuffed them and folded the paper in half stapling them to the bags. What do ya think?
My Dads Projects
This isn't really my project that I completed but my dad did! He made this ladder for me as my Christmas present Dec 2010! I love it! He is so talented.

We still have a few finishing touches but I'm pretty happy with the results.
I don't know about anyone else but Fall is my favorite time of year! I love the colors the weather and the smells! Not to mention Halloween! We have already started decorating around here! These are just a few of my projects around the house! I wish I had the money to do more. Happy Fall Everybody!!!
My Projects
Do any of you watch the show American Pickers on the History channel? Well it has become one of my favorite shows. It's just two guys driving around looking for junk they can buy, restore and then re-sell. I love it! So I have gotten this bug, The American Picker bug that is. I am constantly looking on craigslist and driving by garage sales trying to find anything unique. I even have my dad going with me. He has the bug too! Then last Tuesday I happened to see a post on craigslist for two children's rocking chairs that were handmade. They were pretty gross, ugly brown, wobbly for 20$. They even came with free bird poop! So my dad and I drove down to pick them up and even talked the guy down to 15$. My dad had to talk him down even if it was just five bucks! We took them home and got to work. I thought this would be a good start. Small and simple! I'm sorry I didn't get a before picture but we got straight to work and I didn't think about it till later. This was also my second attempt sewing. I am really starting to like sewing. I already have another project I'm working on.

Yep, I promise. I really made this! I cut and sewed it myself. I know it's not the most difficult thing to make but for those of you who know me, know that I don't sew! This was actually the very first time I have ever used a sewing machine!!!
