This year Chase decided that he wanted to make a Monster Valentines Box for his school party. However, some how it turned into a mom project. Funny how that works out! Last year we made an alligator. If you want to see it you can click here.
I used a box we received in the mail, tape, knife, scissors, hot glue gun, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and some fabric. I bought the fabric that was on sale at Walmart. The total cost was $7.00. If you want to make a monster valentines box for your kiddo here are the steps.
The first step I took was to tape the flaps of the box and then cut out a mouth.
Second I wrapped the box with the fabric, just like wrapping a gift. I used the glue gun to hold down the fabric as I went. I only burned myself once. That's a new record for me.
After that I used the pipe cleaners and googly eyes. I punched small wholes in top of the box with scissors and then just used hot glue to secure them to the box.
Finally I added teeth I cut out of fabric and a heart. It wouldn't be a Valentines box without a heart.
It took me about 30min to complete :) Chase loves it!

That is absolutely adorable! Neither of my kids' classes are asking for boxes this year. My daughter's class doesn't do much, and my son's class is making theirs at school :-( I remember having so much fun as a kid making these and seeing what everyone else did. You've definitely got a winner here!
So cute. I wish I were that creative. I need to make one tonight and I am at a loss for ideas!
