Day Two

Our ride on the Lilly Belle

We were so lucky on our second day at Disneyland. We were able to ride the Lilly Belle train car.  For those of you who don't know the Lilly Belle is the Disneyland Railroads Presidential Car. VIP guests and famous folk get to ride on it. It was originally Lillian Disney's private car when the park opened and only the members of the Disney family were allowed to ride on it. The guide told us that Lillian was very quite and keep to herself so when she visited the park she would often ride around the park in this car.

The car has most of the original furniture and decor but some

has been replaced or refurbished.  We were told that the furniture was actually purchased from the Queen Mary.

The carpet in the car is the actual carpet from Walt Disney's office. Even the original stuff has hidden Mickey's.

Here is a picture of the rest of the car. If you ever have the chance take a ride on the Lilly Belle it is so much fun. You learn some great history about the Disney family and it makes you kinda feel important when all the other people in the park see ya in the car. You know they are wondering just how you managed to get on it!
